Brusand Surf Guide
Southern Jæren's south-facing catcher's mitt at the transition to the rocky Dalane coast — when a small southerly runs, Brusand is often the only beach on Jæren with rideable waves. Wide white-sand peaks both ways over shifting bars, usually best toward the Ogna end, with Norway's only natural lagoon behind.
Ability Level
Easy
Repeatedly recommended for first-timers in small summer surf; the named sections scale to intermediate-expert fast with size. Best winds NW/N/E.

Local Hazard
Documented "incredibly strong" undercurrents and rips; shifting bars. One tourism source claims a 1 Oct - 31 Mar surf ban here, but Brusand is not among the named bird zones in the legal forskrift - winter access unverified, follow on-site signage.
