Tversted (Tannis Strand) Surf Guide
A lesser-known, open Skagerrak beach on Tannis Bugt between Hirtshals and Skagen, with a very wide surf zone where waves break over shifting outer and inner sandbars — genuinely large when W-WNW wind and swell line up. Park on the sand and you'll usually surf alone.
Ability Level
Easy
Suits a confident L3+ surfer rather than a first-timer, due to the open exposure and current.
Break Type
Beach break
Local Hazard
Very wide surf zone with long paddle-outs and current along the sandbars; cars drive on the beach; no surf infrastructure or lifeguards outside peak season.
